Calorie Search - Now on GTalk

January 3rd, 2009

Lot of you had appreciated calorie lookup on LifeMojo, so we had introduced Calorie Lookup on Mobile around a month ago. Your response to the Mobile Calorie Lookup has been phenomenal! we thank you all for that and in order to make the Calorie Lookup even more accessible, today we are launching the calorie lookup using your favorite Instant Messenger GTalk or the Chat in Gmail.

Now you can access the calorie content of any food item or the calorie burnt by any activity, by sending the name of the food item or activity as a chat message to calories@lifemojo.com (You would have to add calories@lifemojo.com to your friend list first)

Eg. Message rice to calories@lifemojo.com and you would get a response with a list of different types of rice verities and their calorie content as a response.

To get detailed information about any item, send the exact name like lemon rice to calories@lifemojo.com and you would get a response with the details.

Hope you will find this useful. As always, we are looking forward to your feedback and suggestions.

    Fabulous stuff … very easy to use, keep it up! Couple of thoughts that I find encouraging:
    (1) You can make up for a night of drinking with an hour in the gym …
    (2) Average beers (@ 5% alcohol content) contain more alcohol per serving and less calories per ml of alcohol than whisky … renews my belief that “Beer is proof that God loves us!”

    Cheers and hic!

    @prashant

    We are glad that you like GTalk Calorie search.
    The full list of food items is huge for anyone to use, so we do not have that listed anywhere on LifeMojo.

    Superb. Extremely informative.
    However, it will be more helpful if terms like “small katori”, “1 plate”, “1 glass” are quantified with precise measurement.
    All the best and congrats for the excellent work.

    Amazing feature, very handy, makes gtalk interesting :)

    Why don’t you feature this on your homepage, will get good traction. It could also be your tool to promote the website, has tremendous viral potential
